The first phase, which started in the second half of 2021, ended with the trial operation of the station with a daily production capacity of 50 million gallons. The second phase was completed and the station started operating with a full production capacity of 150 million gallons per day by the end of 2022. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Justice, who officially opened the plant, said that this is an important step towards strengthening the country's capacity to address the challenges of the water sector in the future. He added that the opening of "NAQA'A" emphasizes the commitment of the United Arab Emirates to turn its water security priorities into practical initiatives.
